The Vaselines - Sex with an X

Legendary Glaswegian duo The Vaselines have returned with their 2nd studio album in 23 years titled ‘Sex with an X’ due for release on SubPop in late September. Forming in ‘87 before breaking up only 2 years later, The Vaselines achieved little acclaim during their brief spell as a group, but then acquired a modest cult following due to Nirvana covering their ‘Son of a Gun’ and ‘Jesus don’t want me for a sunbeam’. This record lacks the whimsical youthfulness of their phenomenal ‘The way of the Vaselines’, which isn’t surprising being that there pushing 50 now and they’ve obviously improved as songwriters/musicians over the past 20 odd years producing a pop punk record with hooks, backing vocals, handclaps and all…

The duo are touring from the 15 to the 25th of September with dates up and down the country, I already have my ticket for there show in Manchester’s ‘Deaf Institute’…. cannot wait!
