Four Tet / Mala

This new release from electronica/dubstep heavyweights Mala and Four Tet on legendary imprint ‘Soul Jazz’ is an interesting paring, personally preferring Kieran Hebden AKA Four Tet’s ‘Nothing to See’ with all its jolty off kilter percussion to the Mala B Side ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. ‘Nothing to See’ is a side-step from the luscious electronica found on ‘There is Love in You’ and harks towards his earlier jazzier and more experimental works, experimenting with cross rhythms and live percussion. ‘Don’t let me Go’ is typical of Mala, simple yet dark with the Dub and garage influences blending seamlessly to create a progressive 2 Step piece sewn together with atonal Melodica phrases and uncharacteristically subtle bass bursts. Due for release at the end of July. The single will be taken off the shelves in September so be shore to get your hands on it now.
