Warp meets ATP!

Warp is easily one of my favourite labels for electronic music having released records by Aphex Twin, Autechure, Boards of Canada, Battles, Hud Mo, Fly Lo.... and plenty others.

(Recent addition to the Warp Family)

Download : Gonjasufi - Ancestors (Prod. Fly Lo)

- A really fucking strange track! Rolling, discordant Hip Hop beats, masterfully produced by Gaslamp Killer and Fly Lo, supplement Gonjasufi's broken and poignant vocals.

All Tomorrows Parties are an outstanding company, bringing some of the best festival line-ups and gigs, for recent years, to our shores with curators such as Thurston Moore, Pavement and Matt Groning. ATP are also the masterminds behind 'Primavera Sound' in Barcelona w/Pavement, The Fall, Pixies, Gary Newman, Japandroids, The Slits, Boy 8 Bit, Fake Blood, Jeffery Lewis.... is, undoubtedly, the best festival line up of the summer (with possible exception of Glasto) but unfortunately i have university exams during the festival so, i'll be unable to go, damn it!

(From the ATP 2010 Sampler)

Download : Built to Spill - Pat

- This is off their recent 'There is no enemy' album - this song combines jagged riffs, zelous and emotive vocals and an angry sensibility; all into 2 and a half minutes!

Why have I done one post on Warp and ATP? Just another excuse to combine my favourite music?

Well... yes, but because Warp Films (Warp records subsidiary) are releasing 'All Tomorrows Parties', a film of footage and interviews (contributed by over 200 filmmakers) from past ATP festivals! It includes performances from Battles, Sonic Youth, Belle And Sebastian, Grinderman, Mogwai, The Stooges, Portishead, Slint, Grizzly Bear, Yeah Yeah Yeahs Daniel Johnson, The Boredoms and plenty of others!
