R.I.P
Sadly the world of music has seen two ledgends die from Cancer in the past week, Malcolm McLaren and MC Guru from New York Hip Hop duo, Gang Starr.

I dont need to bother explaining the influence Mclaren had over Punk in the UK, he basically brought the Punk imagery over from the US and, with Vivienne Westwood, he created the safety pinned swastika laden style we associate with late 70's Britain, oh yeah, and he built the Sex Pistols! He will be sadly missed.

The early 90's was a really interesting time for Hip Hop, spawning much of the Jazz influenced Hip Hop we know today, including the Native Tongues Posse. One of the most exciting duo's to come out of this time was 'Gang Starr' who incorporated into their sound; a typically New York swing-feel, urban socio-political lyrics and a wide range of influences, often eclipsing the typical realms of Hip Hop.
Guru was known for his rolling delivery, sweet melodies and eclectic influences - he's helped create Jazz Rap and influenced generations of Hip Hop fans.
